Apatite on Quartz

This aesthetic Bolivian Apatite specimen features a well-formed and robust Apatite crystal (measuring 5.5 centimeters across) nestled amongst a field of Quartz needles. The Apatite has a translucent, floral pink color that contrasts the surrounding Quartz; under shortwave UV, the Apatite strongly fluoresces pink and is made more attractive by the illuminated Quartz. Most of the crystal has a sparkly appearance, attributed to the combination of its vitreous luster and light etching on the front and back crystal faces. A small number of grey associations are isolated throughout the Quartz sprays. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base. From the collection of Daniel "Dan" R. Kennedy.
