Aquamarine (Beryl)

Aquamarine is the blue to blue-green variety of beryl, prized for its hexagonal prismatic crystals, vitreous luster, excellent transparency, and elegant pastel to saturated sea-blue color. Fine crystals may show sharp terminations, vertical striations, gem clarity, and attractive associations with albite, muscovite, quartz, or schorl. Collectors value aquamarine for its refined color, crystal architecture, transparency, rarity in fine undamaged crystals, and strong pegmatite locality character. Exceptional specimens from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Brazil, Namibia, Madagascar, Nigeria, and Colorado can serve as serene, high-caliber collection centerpieces.
